An Inexpensive Mai Tai Recipe

Don't have fancy ingredients for an expensive Mai Tai? You can find these ingredients at your grocery store for the perfect inexpensive but delicious Mai Tai cocktail recipe. While its not the classic Mai Tai recipe its a very good substitution when you want to stick to a budget (and not spend $$ on expensive rum).



Cocktail Ingredients

  • 1 oz white rum (Bacardi, Captain Morgan's)

  • 1 oz dark rum (Myer's - can be omitted)

  • 1 oz lime juice (bottle or cut limes)

  • 1/2 oz triple sec (if this is too fancy, just use orange juice)

  • 1/2 oz almond syrup (use almond extract or find a syrup flavor in the coffee section)

  • Garnish: cherry, orange slice, umbrella




Directions

  1. Add ice to a glass of choice

  2. Pour in ingredients

  3. Stir

  4. Enjoy
